Basic How-To on Planning a Memorable Wedding

Weddings are among the most joyous occasions in everyone’s life, so it goes without saying that you’d want to make your wedding day memorable and enjoyable. Many couples make the mistake of stressing out too much on planning their wedding that they forget to enjoy it. Here are some of the basic things you must know about planning a wedding, so you can have a memorable and happy experience:

  • Put someone in charge – As much as you’d want to get involved in planning your wedding, you need to have the freedom to enjoy your special day without worrying about the details.

You need to assign someone who will have the responsibility of taking care of everything. This includes working with the caterers, wedding helpers, entertainment, photographer, and more.

  • Take breaks – Planning a wedding can be a stressful experience for anyone, with so much to think about and so much to do. That’s why you need to take short breaks every now and then to avoid getting overwhelmed and making mistakes as a result.

For instance, try going out at least once a week (just the two of you) to spend some time together. Avoid talking about the upcoming wedding at all costs. Instead, try to enjoy each other’s company.

  • Be picky about your videographer – Two things: your emotions and your story. These are important aspects of a memorable wedding videography. Choose your videographer wisely, so that you get to keep a video that actually showcases how you remember your special day.

  • Get your guests involved – Your guests are going to talk about your wedding for years if you make it fun and memorable enough for them. For instance, try holding dance-offs or sing-offs between your guests, so as to pick which table gets to eat first.

  • Avoid over-stressing yourself – It’s easy to “freak out” over small details that might go wrong on your wedding day. The fact of the matter is that things might not be perfect on that day. That’s why you must avoid stressing out over those little details, so you remember to enjoy your day.
